Application using Automatic Laminator:
Reflective sheeting must be applied as soon as possible once it has been cut or printed.
The application area must be thoroughly clean and free from dust and foreign objects.
The steps involved in applying sheeting using an automatic laminator are as follows:
• Make sure that the laminator rollers are set at the appropriate pressure.
• Before removing the release film, position the retroreflective sheet in the application zone and hold it in place using adhesive tape.
• Peel away and cut off approximately 10 cm. of release film from one end of the sheet, in a straight line parallel to the rollers. Attach the exposed adhesive sheet to the substrate, taking care to ensure that no wrinkles appear.
|
• Feed the sheeting into the laminator, holding it taught and at an angle to keep the adhesive away from the substrate until it passes beneath the roller and gradually removing release film as the rollers adhere the sheet to the substrate.
If an air pocket is left between the sheeting and the substrate once the sheeting has been applied, puncture it at the edge and carefully squeeze the air out.
If two pieces of sheeting are to be applied on one single substrate, they should be spliced horizontally with the top panel overlapping the bottom panel by between 5 and 10 mm. |
