Motorcyclist Protection System: AS-SM6.C (CoSMoS)

At Asebal we have been working many years on designing and developing new vehicle restraint systems (VRS) and motorcyclist protection systems (MPS) that help to watch over the security of all road users.

As a result of this effort and experience and being aware that some road users such as motorcyclists are more vulnerable, Asebal already launched a family of motorcyclist protection systems called AS-SM6.B with a total of 6 systems (C4, C2, T4, S2, R4 and I4). These systems were awarded by the Gallery of Innovation at the trade fair Traffic 2011 and are fully compatible with the different vehicle restraint systems installed along the Spanish roads.

Being aware of the existence of the high amount of kilometers of vehicle restraint systems based on concrete which are very dangerous for motorcyclists, Asebal presents its new MPS named AS-SM6.C (CoSMoS). A continuous motorcyclist protection system, designed to be installed on concrete barriers. Due to the absorption of energy, the system avoids cuts, intrusions, fractures, amputations and what´s most important, irreversible injuries.

The AS-SM6.C (CoSMoS) system has been tested at a laboratory accredited by ENAC where testing was performed according to the regulation UNE 135900 obtaining the less harmful impact severity class for users of 2 wheeled vehicles. Level I.

The system is composed of a motorcyclist protection beam, mounting brackets and the necessary bolts, nuts and washers to complete installation on the concrete barriers.
